How you will make an impact
Provide automation support for existing and future pharmaceutical process control systems. Develop, improve or guide process automation application for present and future automation projects.
Develop and implement, in a timely and efficient manner, technology to achieve user goals.
What you will do
Lead multiple large automation projects/assignments simultaneously with meaningful design outside field.
Analyze the data and facts concerning automation engineering assignments and develop a scope of work based upon broad engineering principles and established methods in effect in the industry consistent with the Company’s standards and specifications
Provide system design requirements to ensure system meets user requirements as well as company GMP and data integrity requirements, creation of user documentation and procedures as required to support new systems and system commissioning and startup support.
Creation of complete and detailed specifications and related documentation that clearly define user needs and system functionality for new automation systems or modifications to existing systems. Coordinates the design/drafting of new engineering drawings or update existing drawings.
Startup of new operations by ensuring code and configurations meet specifications and validation requirements.
Maintain the required knowledge and skills to support automation hardware, software, instrument, and process problems to maintain system readiness. Frequently, this effort requires collaboration with other site maintenance subject area. Communicate issue resolution summary to impacted area supervision. Candidate will supply 24hr. automation on-call support
Education:
High school diploma or GED minimally required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject area is preferred.
Experience:
With HS diploma, Ten (10) years of proven experience in either pharmaceutical automation or BMS automation. Vial and syringe filling line and isolator experience preferred.
With Bachelor's degree, Seven (7) years of relevant experience as described above.
PLC automation control system experience.
Development of process, site utilities control systems or equipment control applications applying PLC ladder and function block logic.
Development, and support of Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA systems including FactoryTalk Historian.
Basic automation network design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Familiarity configuration of Rockwell Stratix Switch hardware, Device Layer Ring, and Network Address Translation (NAT) a plus.
Experience with Data Integrity principles for automation systems and audit trail data a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Allen-Bradley PLC
Familiarity with a variety of control system platforms such as A-B, Modicon, B&R
Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA system development and support.
Familiarity with GE iFix and Rockwell PlantPAx control module library and graphic objects
Familiarity with AOI based programming in Allen Bradley PLC’s
Familiarity with using Modbus, BACnet, and Ethernet I/P communication protocols in Rockwell environment a plus
Experience with automation engineering documentation (User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, Design Specifications) a plus
OPC communication software and configuration
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
SQL Server database support and management
Demonstrated leadership experience and project management
Self-starter, independent and dependable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
Effective time management, multitasking and prioritization skills.
