Position Summary
Research, make recommendations for, and oversee the communications strategy for Community Engagement Office to help facilitate communication to key constituents, including neighbors, nonprofits, elected, and the media. Responsible for creating content, curating, sourcing, monitoring, and stimulating positive online content on multiple digital platforms. Work as a member of a well -coordinated team that fields calls and inquiries from elected officials and neighbors. Oversee and conduct support work for an array of projects. Projects range from issue spotting, to constituent services, to writing and research on a broad range of topics, to problem solving, assistance with event planning, coordination and outreach about University priorities.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ years relevant communications experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience in managing content in digital space including website, social media, blogs, multimedia content and other online platforms.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent writing, editing, research, and communication skills; Demonstrated capacity for critical, independent, and creative thinking; Strong project and time management skills, verbal skills and organizational skills; Fluency and creativity with social media sites; Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in an integrated communications plan; Previous experience making site updates using a content management system (CMS). Knowledge of basic HTML coding and digital graphics production skills through Adobe Creative Suite (ex: InDesign, Photoshop) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $65,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
