Sr. Commercial Lines Underwriter - TheAuto Club Group What you will do: Review, accept, decline or modifyofferings submitted by producers for multiple/various commercial linecoverage. Evaluate risks according to location, physical and moralhazards, inspection reports, underwriting precedent and experience,ensuring compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines and companyphilosophy throughout the process. Review information received regardingrisks including inspection reports and credit reports and verifyapplication data through the use of investigative letters, commercialinspections and/or personal observation. Review inspection reports andclaims for rating on acceptability status and recommend risk improvementas appropriate. Initiate potential policy coverage or rating revision asa result of analysis and recommends and approves continuation,cancellation, non-renewal or rejection of applications or policies inaccordance with established underwriting procedures, laws and judgment.Exercise discretionary judgment when evaluating new or renewalhigh-value commercial underwriting application policies and evaluate themerits of each line of insurance based on current laws or level ofunderwriting expertise to accept or reject the risk presented.Correspond with outside insurance companies, business organizations,governmental agencies, or other contacts to develop procedures or toproperly evaluate risks. Communicate and develop relationships withagents and producers and other insurance personnel to obtain furtherinformation, rate quotes or explain company underwriting policies.Manage portfolio to control the overall mix of accounts, profitabilityand take prompt action when necessary.
