  The Amazon Business team is dedicated to developing solutions that make procurement easy for organizations. Business Contracts Managers are an integral component to the team, acting as subject matter experts in pre and post-award contract management. As a Sr. Business Contracts Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to help develop the go-to-market strategy and deliver on our spend adoption plans with our Commercial, Public and Strategic customers.

  The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated contract and/or proposal management experience in the procurement and/or category management space, an ability to identify and drive global process improvements, and an eye for detail with a drive to follow-through. They will be able to solve business and technical requirements for our customers and partners, working with internal teams to quickly build the best proposal. Successful candidates will have outstanding communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. They will have an industry background that enables them to develop win themes and technical discriminators for inclusion into proposals and a contracts background that enables them to easily interact with legal team.

  Roles and Responsibilities:

  · Participate in and oversee group reviews of all customer contractual and purchase documents

  · Coordinate legal activities for contract/agreement negotiation and support the competitive bid process in reviewing RFPs and enabling contract compliance

  · Complete SOP Playbook to facilitate overall management of each signed contract

  · Review each proposed RFx to identify risks and access compliance capabilities; Advise on contracting issues and approaches with respect to commercial terms and conditions as well as acquisition policy and regulations

  · Lead all contract implementation activities including notifying compliance stakeholders and facilitating reporting requirements and fee payments

  · Develop and launch Go-To-Market plan for each contract to educate Customer Advisors and leverage the contract as an engagement vehicle

  · Facilitate customer meetings; Lead communication with customer contracting leads

  · Maintain contract records/files and manage, track, and insure adherence to all contractual obligations

  · Develop and implement tools and processes in contracting operations to increase efficiency and sales productivity. Support the Customer Advisor team in educating contracting leads on Amazon Business

  · Establish internal reporting on contract performance and own monitoring and reporting on progress, including oral and written presentations to EU senior leadership

  The ideal candidate will be able to support business contracts in German and English.

  This role can be located in the following Amazon Business locations: London (UK), Munich (Germany), Paris (France), Milan (Italy), Madrid (Spain), or Luxembourg (LUX).

  Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 5 years of contracts management (including managing large contracts), procurement, legal or other relevant experience with public or private sector customers

  • Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of teams and customers

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  Preferred qualifications

  • Postgraduate Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • Knowledge of managed spend buying requirements and or

  • Expertise in reviewing and negotiating terms across a broad range of private and/or public sector contracts

  • Experience in CRM tools and Salesforce

  Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Amazon Business team leading the management of Category Adoption proposals

  • Execute our Category Adoption strategy by providing a prioritization backed by business and input/product analyses

  • Create and execute a proposal plan while working with key internal stakeholders/subject matter experts (e.g. Customer Advisor, Product, Legal, Finance teams etc.)

  • Work with customers and internal stakeholders across several EU countries

  • Working backwards from the voice of the customer, optimize existing processes and develop new scalable/repeatable mechanisms

  • Educate Customer Advisors on best practices to identify large-scale opportunities and navigate proposal management processes to produce winning proposals

  • Build a library of approved and updated proposal content

  Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience

  • 7 years+ professional experience in Sales/Business Development/Operations/Business analysis with demonstrable ability to deliver results

  • Excellent writing, presenting and editing skills

  • Experience working with Sales teams to build pipeline

  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, stakeholders, tight timelines

  • Understanding of Private or Public procurement processes and regulations, including supporting proposal responses to RFx opportunities

  • Proficient in at least 2 of the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience in: B2B Solution Sales of Office, IT, Jan-San or MRO supplies programs

  • Energized by being an industry pioneer and innovator

  • Ability to lead within a fast-paced, dynamic and multi-task driven environment

  • Proficient in developing a tangible plan of action to achieve a bold vision

  • Demonstrated project management skills, able to organize and lead concurrent projects, manage multiple deadlines and balance changing priorities.

  • Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers.

  • Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

  • Comfort working with a broad range of technology tools including Excel, Word, and Salesforce.com
