Delta Dental Plan of Michigan, Inc. seeks full-time Senior Build Engineers (multiple positions available) based in Okemos, MI. The primary duty of the Senior Build Engineer is to facilitate application builds and deployments through the design and development of continuous integration and deployment systems. Specific duties include: 1) Creates all source code repositories, management security model, backup / restore of the source code repositories, and upgrading the version control system. 2) Performs source code deployment activities for all development, test and production environments. 3) Develops, follows, and documents application build procedures. Builds and maintains automatic build and deploy scripts and identifies processes in need of automation or scripting. 4) Works with infrastructure architects to establish the physical environments to effectively perform the software builds and deployments. 5) Supports and resolves any deployment issues with the application development team and Quality Assurance team. 6) Assists the Development team in preparing projects for deployment. Resolves source code merge issues when preparing deployments and works closely with Development, QA, and Release Management teams to solve moderate to complex build/deployment issues and challenges. 7) Ensures any items included in the source code deployments have gone through the appropriate management approval channels. 8) Assists with researching new methods or approaches to improve deployment efficiencies. 9) Apply excellent communication skills with a focus on personal and team communication, including members of management; 10) Analyze and resolve complex problems. Technologies and tools utilized by the Senior Build Engineer include: designing and implementing new CI/CD toolchains; utilizing Java programming language; applying an advanced understanding of version control systems such as Git, SVN, AccuRev; advanced scripting with languages such as Groovy, Bash or Python; advanced knowledge of web-based software delivery methods. Salary: $115,000/year. Position is a hybrid position with an in-office requirement. Worker must live within a commutable distance of Okemos, MI and be able to work in-office as required. 　　This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in software development or delivery, or a related occupation. Must also have five (5) years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) designing and implementing new CI/CD toolchains; 2) utilizing Java programming language; 3) applying an advanced understanding of version control systems such as Git, SVN, AccuRev; 4) advanced scripting with languages such as Groovy, Bash or Python; 5) advanced knowledge of web-based software delivery methods.
