Senior Associate, Front Office, Trading Desk

The ALM Front Office plays a critical role in managing interest rate risk for Capital One and Capital One's customers. The ALM Front Office team works with our partners in ALM Strategy to execute trades designed to hedge the bank from adverse market moves in both interest rates or foreign exchange markets. Additionally, ALM Front Office sources liquidity for bank customers seeking to manage their own interest rate risk via interest rate derivatives.

Major Responsibilities Include:

Candidate will support Treasury’s ALM Derivatives Trading Desk

Initial responsibilities will include managing the Desk’s intake of trade inquiries, tracking and updating trade pipeline, and handling other Desk processes

-Monitor markets and provide in-depth market and liquidity color for other groups throughout Global Finance

Work on ad hoc projects as needed such as new product testing, onboarding new dealer relationships, amending existing legal agreements, etc.

Role would eventually grow into trade execution in interest rate and foreign exchange (FX) derivatives as well

Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external dealers

A successful candidate will show interest in people, problem-solving, and financial markets. Attention to detail and desire to develop subject matter expertise is a must.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 1 year of financial experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year of experience in Fixed Income Markets, preferably in IRD space

1+ year of experience working at a financial institution, bank or broker dealer

Proficient in the use of Bloomberg, Excel, and Visual Basic

Combination of Business and IT development background

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics

CFA, MBA, or MS preferred, progress towards any certification/degrees considered
