  Overall Purpose of the Role

  Summary of the role – main purpose for the existence of the role

  Support day-to-day accounting activities, include record-to-report activities for film cost recognition and amortization, subscription and content licensing revenue, intercompany transactions, OPEX, etc. of HBO APAC entities

  Responsibilities to include support and assist all accounting aspect relating to programming, original production, content licensing and month end close.

  MAJOR ACTIVITIES

  General Accounting

  Download titles from iBroadcast and update exhibition dates in sub-system

  Preparation of journals for programming expense, inventories, and payments

  Analyze Indies and Specials expense variance

  Indies & Specials Cash and Expense Forecast

  Prepare Programming Audit schedules

  Prepare monthly close entries

  Review inputs PSS subsystem

  Review of balance sheet reconciliations

  Manage intercompany transaction disputes and confirmation

  Support internal and external audit request

  Work in collaboration with Finance, Business, LOB, GBS on cross divisional initiatives and handles reporting requests/questions received from various stakeholders

  Responsible for monthly foreign exchange revaluation and translation process

  Responsible and manage month end close processes and deliverables

  Perform ad hoc analysis for Sr. Manager as well as working with different departments and handle queries within the organization

  Coordinate with other team members to reconcile identified variance, adjustments to be made

  Assist in various global/ department initiatives, such as system migration and Account Reconciliation Harmonization

  Areas of Accountability

  Where applicable, provide information about the size of the organization managed, operating budget, revenue accountability, number of employees or other quantitative data pertinent to this position.

  Regular interaction with various accounting groups in a matrixed organizationSelection criteria

  Essential:

  Preferred fully qualified Accountant – CPA

  Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost

  US GAAP reporting and SOX experience

  Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting

  Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounting

  High level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  Desirable:

  Experience in Integrated finance applications/information systems e.g. SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle

  Experience working with outsourced financial functions

  Competency assessment

  Attention to detail, but also able to take a strategic view of data and highlight salient facts for discussion.

  The ability to plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines as well as effective time management of workflow to meet accounting deadline.

  Strong analytical, strategic thinking and technical accounting skills

  Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities, communicating changes in scope and schedule to all parties concerned.

  Able to work under pressure / time constraints.

  Proactivity – display strong initiative and ability to identify and rectify issues. Propose solution rather than come with problem.

  Ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.

  Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel.

  Able to work flexible hours, including possible overtime, when necessary.

  Able to organize and schedule work effectively.

  Service-oriented.

  Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
