Senior Application Engineer

　　Location: Anywhere in the US (Remote)

　　Position Summary:

　　Our Solution Engineering team is a strategic partner to the sales organization and is responsible for building a compelling vision of the Bentley solutions for our users and prospects in some of the largest organizations in the world. As a Senior Application Engineer, you will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization as a civil engineering transportation product specialist who provides advanced independent technical guidance and best practices to demonstrate product capabilities, complex workflows, and value to users and potential users of Bentley applications.

　　The Senior Application Engineer has a strong functional understanding of Bentley civil transportation products and solutions and can prepare and execute all types of user-facing presentations, as well as lead ad hoc groups tasked with putting together complex presentations or proposals for the given brand.

　　Within the team, the Senior Application Engineer serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the Bentley Transportation Solution Engineering team and provides technical leadership for the team, guiding and mentoring other colleagues.

　　We will rely on you for the following:

　　Demonstrate a brand workflow for Bentley civil transportation applications to users.

　　Coordinate the preparation and presentation of complex cross-brand processes (usually led by a Solution Architect) that require interoperability between Bentley brands.

　　Engage directly with the user to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements for scopes of services that may involve several applications within Bentley civil transportation solutions.

　　Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

　　Drive proposal development related to those offers in an identified area of expertise.

　　Participate in pilot or proof of concept tests with users.

　　Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues.

　　Serve as the technical liaison between Account Advancement and User Success teams.

　　Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley civil transportation applications to users.

　　Develop and prepare datasets for user presentations and demonstrations.

　　Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements.

　　Develop content (i.e., videos) that can be delivered in one-to-one or one-to-many modes.

　　Deliver presentations and provide support for corporate sales and marketing events.

　　Prepare and recommend the scope of services for User Success to implement.

　　Provide timely feedback on user interactions to improve sales and marketing efforts.

　　Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs).

　　Work with Product teams to stay up to date with current releases of Bentley applications.

　　Contribute to the Bentley Communities by posting application tips and/or answering user questions.

　　Understand civil transportation industry design standards as well as methodologies and make recommendations for conformant product configurations.

　　Stay updated on civil transportation industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

　　What You Bring to the Team:

　　Advanced level of technical proficiency in one or many Bentley civil transportation products such as OpenRoads Designer, OpenRail Designer, OpenRail Overhead Line Designer, Bentley Rail Track (InRail), MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads. Experience with other related industry civil engineering applications such as Civil3D, MX, Trimble is beneficial.

　　Previous significant experience in a pre-sales capacity with constant engagement with users and potential users.

　　Ability to successfully lead purpose-created teams and achieve their objective (RFP, proposal presentation, etc.).

　　Strong knowledge of civil transportation industry standards and methodologies, as well as familiarity with state and/or federal agency standards.

　　Detailed knowledge of competitor offerings in the same space.

　　Recognized by users and colleagues as a brand specialist.
