We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools they need to do their job.This role presents a significant opportunity to support multi-disciplinary teams and offer technical Health and Safety guidance to the site. Reporting to thePrincipal Advisor - Health, Safety, and Security, your responsibilities will encompass:Collaborating with project managers and project teams to implement risk management processes. Supporting various aspects of project health and safety planning activities, including in-field risk management and hazard reduction.Contributing to the development and delivery of health and safety training. Providing coaching and on-the-job health and safety training to project staff.Ensuring that contractor practices at the project level align with Rio Tinto's and statutory health and safety standards and requirements. Offering advice and workplace/on-site collaboration to assist contractors in adhering to health and safety standards and requirements.Assisting project teams in conducting internal audits and inspections of the site, equipment, and materials to ensure safe operations.Conducting investigations into incidents and near misses. Establishing facts, identifying causes, presenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.Actively advising the HSE management team of critical issues and suggesting interactions that will contribute to mitigating safety risks.What you'll bringA commitment to the health and safety of yourself and your team.Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines such as Health and Safety.7+ years of experience in a similar role.Must haveExperience inUnderground mine operations.Organizational and project management skills to plan, manage, and deliver work, including the ability to operate within resource and budget constraints.Skills in delivering Health and Safety training, including adapting training and educational materials for the specific needs of different audiences.Practical problem-solving skills for researching and resolving Health and Safety issues, with the ability to develop solutions for non-standard problems.Effective communication skills, including the ability to write recommendations and reports for management and present information to a range of stakeholders.Strong understanding of MSHA, ASMI, and OSHA regulations.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).What we offerWe are committed to providing our employees witha generous benefits package; it includes:A safety-focused and inclusive working environmentAdvantageous salary package with annual cash incentive awards for eligible employeesAccess to top-tier family-friendly health programs including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, and various voluntary benefits.Excellent retirement plan including up to 6%...
