　　Responsibilities

　　• Procedural expertise/knowledge of CIS (Utility Billing Customer Information System).

　　• Prepare scheduled billing batches for San Jose Municipal Water and garbage accounts.

　　• Ensure billing accuracy for all billed water and garbage accounts, by reviewing and double-checking billing batches, before they are submitted for processing.

　　• Review and resolve customer billing issues, de-escalating as needed.

　　• Perform assigned CIS tasks from ESD, Call Center, Payment Processing, and Utility Billing.

　　• Ensure all assigned work follows City Municipal Code and current policies/procedures.

　　• Make recommendations to update billing procedures for continuous improvement, as opportunities arise.

　　• Review delinquent accounts, ensuring late payment charges (LPC) and other collection charges are correctly applied.

　　• Handle customer requests, including back billing, adjustments, refunds, LPC waivers.

　　• Apply service level changes to customer accounts based on garbage hauler reports.

　　• Provide approved credits for programs such as LIHWAP, other low-income programs.

　　• Reallocate payments, credits, balances between utility services as needed.

　　• Monitor returned mail, and update CIS account notes to reflect returned mail status.

　　• Keep Log Record of Bill Send updated with billing batch data
