Senior Accountant / Senior Cost Accountant

If you answered yes to these questions, we should talk! Our Accessories Division is growing and to support that growth, we are adding a Senior Accountant / Senior Cost Accountant to our team.
This is an on-site role that will be based out of our Monroe, North Carolina location and may require occassional travel within the US to assigned manufacturing plants (potential locations include Somerset, PA; Rockwood, PA; Memphis; TN; Ventura, CA; and Berlin, CT)
What would you do as our Senior Accountant / Senior Cost Accountant?
This position will play an integral role on a small Finance Team by assisting the Director of Finance and General Manager. You will be providing leadership and coordination of company cost accounting, planning, and Profit and Loss (P&L) management, as well as, ensuring that we conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
You would also:
Prepare financial information, analysis and costing to support the team
Provide monthly operational spending analysis and provide explanations for variances to trends, budget and forecast
Work with teams across the organization to adjust product costing attributes, manage purchasing and inventory, as well as analyze product mix and any price/volume analysis
Direct the development and maintenance of standard cost rates and monthly standard gross margin analysis
Prepare monthly entries to complete the profit and loss statement and month-end close
Manage the annual standard cost roll ensuring that product costs are established properly and that costs are appropriately allocated to products
Manage the annual physical inventory process
Perform ad hoc business analysis as required
Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment
Complies with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, ASSA ABLOY programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
MBA and/or CPA preferred
3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or finance within a manufacturing environment
Previous working knowledge of finance, financial accounting, budgeting, and cost accounting principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Working knowledge of forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
Strong/advanced Excel skills, accounting systems and an ERP system
Experience with HFM preferred
Excellent time management, prioritization, analytical, problem solving and project management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Exceptional communication skills both oral and written, with the ability to present complex information in a concise and intelligent manner to both employees and executive teams
Detail oriented individual who exhibits a sense of urgency and exhibits a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information
Previous leadership experience with a high comfort level of facilitating group meetings
Ability to travel up to 10%
