AIM is a top tier professional services firm in Bermuda, providing re/insurance clients with management and consultancy services customized to meet the uniqueness of their individual needs. The Senior Account Executive must be an efficient yet personable risk and insurance accounting professional with strong technical skills, who can confidently convey realistic advice to clients and provide accurate reporting.
Your daily responsibilities and impact:
Perform the accounting functions for a variety of capital market and commercial clients; working outside normal work hours as needed to meet reporting times;
Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS, and other insurance regulatory authorities. Prepare periodic reports, working paper files and detailed analyses that accompany financial statements;
Supervise annual audit and regulatory reporting;
Coordinate client meetings; assist with the development and delivery of presentations of financial results at director and shareholder meetings;
Assist with maintaining existing client relationships and help create new ones. Participate in new business development and prospect meetings;
Collaborate as part of the Client Service team to customize additional or specialized services for clients.
Required skills and experience that will lead to success:
An accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA);
Recent captive or insurance related experience in Bermuda or other prominent captive domicile (through Big 4 public accounting firms or other captive management companies) would be advantageous;
Strong familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS and the requirements of other regulatory bodies;
Familiarity with ILS, commercial and alternative insurance products would be advantageous;
Familiarity with US tax issues/implications;
Experience in managing employees;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with exceptional presentation skills;
Strong financial reporting and analytical skills;
Excellent self-manager of time with the ability to organize, prioritize and triage work to deliver timely results;
Good digital literacy and skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Software, such as Excel and Word and familiarity with insurance-based accounting systems;
Ability to work collaboratively or as an individual contributor when required, and manage projects as needed.
