Job Description
The Security Specialist works under the direction of the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) to provide administrative and operational support to multiple IC customer programs in a large, multi-program, secure facility. This position supports implementing and maintaining compliance with US Government and Corporate Security policies and procedures. The Security Specialist helps to protect people, information, and property in support of program and mission objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
Administer routine aspects of industrial security and Secure Compartmented Information (SCI) programs in compliance with the NISPOM, DoDM, ICDs, and other applicable government security directives associated with SCI security.
Communicate clearly, concisely, accurately, and promptly with colleagues and customers.
Coordinate facility visits, badging new hires, and general security inquiries.
Maintain all security documentation in accordance with government requirements.
Update records in the Security Information Management System (SIMS).
Provide initial security briefings, debriefings, foreign travel, and other security awareness training.
Coordinate with Government customer security offices.
Conduct random inspections, investigate security violations, maintain records, and submit reports.
Review of end-of-day checklists and daily action reports submitted by contract guard force.
Support CSSO with the preparation and maintenance of facility accreditation documentation.Serves as Alternate COMSEC custodian.
Serves as CPSO. Interfaces with Program Managers and maintain liaison with US Government Program Security Officers.
Perform SCI crossover nominations and process incoming and outgoing classified visit certifications.
Assist Physical Security Officer (PSO) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with tasks such as completing checklists, conducting inventory, updating records, conducting self-inspections, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work core hours are M-F 8 am - 5 pm.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically a Bachelor's degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience required.Must currently have active access to TS/SCI. CI Polygraph is required.
Working knowledge of ICDs, 5200.02 DoD Manual, and 32 CFR Past 117 NISPOM regulations.
Ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail and operate under pressure.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Possess thorough knowledge of the government clearance process and experience with JPAS, NISS, DISS, and E-QIP.
Experience in Personnel and Information Security, document and visitor control, and working in an SCI environment.
Ability to use computer software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, security databases and email.
Willingness and desire to support all security disciplines in the organization as a team member.
Self starter requiring minimal supervision and ability to perform well with changing priorities.
Effective problem solving and mediation skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Industrial security experience
COMSEC Custodian Certification
Professional Security Certification such as ISP or SPeD
SSO/CSSO certification course or equivalent
Facility Security Officer for possessing facilities
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870
