The Strong has an opening for security officers on the day shift. Security Officers are responsible for providing a visible security presence inside the museum facility, in the parking garage and on museum grounds to protect the safety and well-being of guests, staff, and collections. This is accomplished through the use of posted security positions, frequent walking tours, and monitoring of CCTV cameras to identify and address security concerns, respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and prepare reports. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible 40 hour/ week position. Please note that museum security is on duty 24/7 so officers are expected to work weekends and holidays.

　　We are looking to hire two (2) full time Security Officers for the daytime shift. Flexible availability needed. Required schedule will be discussed. Weekends are required.

　　Qualifications:

　　High school diploma or equivalency

　　1-2 years of related experience, at a corporate facility or public venue preferred

　　Possession of a valid New York State security guard license

　　Working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures in a business environment

　　Strong verbal and written communication skills

　　Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures and to perform duties in a professional manner

　　Experience investigating and writing incident reports and making independent, reasonable decisions within proper policies and procedures

　　Successfully complete, become certified, and stay current with Red Cross basic first aid training, AED training, and adult and child CPR training

　　Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s License is desired

　　Final candidates must consent to and pass a drug screen and background check as conditions of employment.
