This position provides shift supervision involving the security of three patient and multiple administrative buildings of the Security Department at Norristown State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Security Officer 2, you are responsible for the supervising duties of the security staff. Supervising duties include preparing and updating job descriptions, staffing needs including approving and disapproving leave to ensure minimum staffing is maintained with minimal overtime, assigning work, and completing employee performance reviews. In addition, you are responsible for training lower-level Security Officers to provide the job knowledge for them to perform required tasks in accordance with guidelines established by the Safety Manager and DHS written policies.
You are also responsible for traffic and parking control and enforcement, prevention and detection of crime, and the enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations relating to the welfare and safety of patients, employees, and the visiting public.

One year as a Security Officer 1; *or*Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledges, skills, and abilities required to provide supervisory security services. *Special Requirement: *
