SPECIAL NOTES:
High school diploma or equivalent isrequired.
Preferencewill be given for anassociate or bachelor’s degree.
Additionalrequirements:
A minimum one (1) year experience in general secretaryorclerical work such as switchboard operation, customer service, filing, or equivalent experience.
Additional preferencewill be given to applicants with:
One (1) year experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have a valid and current driver’s license.
This position will be filled at the base salary of $32,760.00, which is non-negotiable.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of correct grammar usage.
Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office programs, database(s) used to maintain records.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulation, policies, and practices.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with the public.
Ability to work independently and as the member of a team.
Ability to utilize personal computers for work processing, data entry, and spreadsheet development.
Ability to identify and solve problems.
Ability to access, input and retrieve data from personal computer.
Ability to prepare correspondence.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Mail nine-month renewal notices for Firefighter Certificate of Compliance. Prepare and mail correspondence as needed.
Manage a multiple line switchboard including the ability to provide information clearly and accurately with good listening skills.
Assists firefighters with the Refresher Retention process and applications.
Responsible for checking for Standards and mail in the Bureau’s mailroom and distribution.
Mail/e-mail ProBoard or IFSAC applications upon request.
Mails training academies approval letters and certificates for annual renewals.
Accept application fees for state certification examinations through NIC.
Other related work as assigned by Supervisor.
