About Seasonal Commodity Manager in Livonia

  Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full Time Commodity Manager for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. The Commodity Manager (CM) will place purchase orders, requests for quotes (RFQs), perform data analysis and other activities associated with overseeing the sourcing of new products. The role will manage suppliers and current cost reductions. The Commodity Manager evaluates suppliers based on cost, quality, launch, and delivery of their products and services. This Full Time Commodity Manager position is based out of Livonia, MI and offers an AM Day shift. Candidates meeting the requirements for mechanics below are strongly encouraged to apply.

   

  Responsibilities

  Lead current production cost reduction and new program sourcing for the assigned commodities, including issuing and analyzing RFQs. (40%)Process purchase orders and ensure that supplier is meeting delivery dates. (20%)Assist in developing and executing sourcing strategies and plans to leverage Roush's global buy and optimize total supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, and launch). (5%)Lead, manage and execute data collection, validation, analysis, and negotiation activities for the assigned commodities. (10%)Assist in on going supplier assessment and performance review meetings, monitor effectiveness of strategy, and make changes. (10%)Participate in process improvements with the team to develop and implement best practices. (10%)Monitor supply markets, trends, and forecasts. (5%)Shift Schedule:

  AM shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

   

  Pay Range:

  $22 - $32/hr., depending on experience

  Requirements:

  Must be 18 years of age or olderMust have a valid U.S. driver's license and a good driving recordMinimum 2 years driving experience in the U.S.Bachelor's degree in Business or related or technical areaGood verbal and written communication skillsGood computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointProfessional and possesses integrityAbility to collect and analyze dataTravel Requirements: 20%

   

  Preferred Education and Experience:

  Relevant internship or co-op experienceExperience in the automotive industryExperience with cost analysisExperience in negotiating and assessing suppliers

   

  Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  Understanding of automotive industry quality standardsCoordination, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsTechnical capability and manufacturing knowledgeKnowledge of PeopleSoftFamiliarity purchasing raw materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.)
