  The Role: We are seeking one (1) Scrum Master to join our Web Applications team.

  Location: Windsor, ON - This position supports flexible work arrangement - Local, Hybrid or Remote, within Canada!

  THE ROLE

  The Web Applications team is primarily responsible for the planning, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of customer-facing web applications that allow our visitors to quote, purchase and modify their insurance policies online.

  As a Scrum Master on the HCC Web Applications team, you will support and coach the team in agile product development and delivery methods. You will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, drive transparency through clear communication, and help to foster collaboration between the Business and the team. Your support and coaching of the team will lead to the employment of sustainable practices that produce continuous improvements.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  Support and coach teams in agile product development and delivery methods.

  Collaborate with the Manager of Web Applications to enable teams to continuously improve with sustainable software development planning and development practices.

  Collaborate with Product Owners to align teams around the business’ goals and help to enable Product Owners to refine their product backlog(s) effectively so that there is a steady pipeline of work in a Ready state

  Facilitate most Scrum agile ceremonies, in collaboration with Product Owners

  Help to identify project risks and help the team mitigate them, removing impediments along the way

  Collaborate with team members to plan, document, estimate and execute projects.

  Learn and understand the needs of our customers and the business and support the team in designing solutions that positively impact both.

  Prioritizes available tasks and personal workload to meet the team's goals and respond to emergency situations effectively.

  REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  Experience as a Scrum Master on a Scrum agile team in the software/web development space, or equivalent experience

  Strong communication and servant leadership skills with proven ability to remove impediments the team is facing

  Ability to work across more than one scrum team

  Strong desire and ability to learn new methodologies and skills

  Strong organization skills (both personal and team)

  Strong verbal and written communication skills

  Post-secondary diploma/degree OR equivalent work experience (1-2 years)

  USEFUL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  Scrum Master Certification or Project Management Certification(s)

  Experience working on a web development team leveraging cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux) that employs CICD

  As this position will be part of an overall implementation of agile Scrum, experience leading teams adopting agile Scrum for the first time is highly desired

  Task and project management via Jira and Asana

  Workplace messaging via Slack and Teams

  Experience in InsurTech, FinTech, or similarly regulated industries

  Bilingual (French and English)
