Maxim HealthcareStaffing is seeking a School Psychologist. The School Psychologist is responsible for providing on-site psychologicalservices to those applicable under the jurisdiction of the state and client.
The School Psychologistrole supports academic and social emotional growth of students. To meet thisneed, School Psychologists practice within a science-practitioner modelcollecting and using data at the school, staff, and student levels to guide andsupport full and effective use of research-based instructional practices.
Essential Functions
Engage as an active member of the school psychologist team to continually improve practices and procedures that meet the needs of staff, parents, and students of Clover Schools;
Support school-wide initiatives such Multi-tiered Systems of Support and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports;
Collect data that guides proactive and strategic planning and use of best practices in instruction for academic and social-emotional/behavior needs for both special and general education students;
Use research based or informed practices to support staff, students, and parents;
Actively coach and support staff in effective problem solving and decision making;
Facilitate discussion related to student and staff needs within a multi-system framework of supports;
Provide direct and indirect support (counseling, skill training) to students related to social-emotional and/or behavioral needs;
Provide coaching, scaffolded support, and performance feedback to teams, staff, and other school members regarding effective and efficient use of research-based practices;
Effectively and efficiently share data that facilitates problem solving and action planning with teams;
Coordinate with external stakeholders including community agencies (e.g., medical, judicial, social services, mental health care providers) to identify and monitor delivery and use of effective practices;
Use data to review current practices relative to fit and feasibility that drive ongoing improvement relative to contextual demands;
Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or collecting information required to perform functions;
Prepare a wide variety of written materials (e.g. behavior intervention plan, functional behavior assessments, evaluation reports, outcomes of data collection, correspondence with parents) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information;
Conduct needs assessments, initiative inventories, and/or environmental scans to assess needs, fit, and feasibility of system or school level interventions or supports;
Review research on strategies or practices to determine potential impact on student or system level outcomes;
Review research to identify evidence-based practices to support students’ needs;
If appropriate, supervise interns, practicum students and others for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of schools’ curriculum.
Required Skills,Knowledge, and Abilities
Specific skills requiredto perform functions of the role that facilitates learning and development ofstaff and students. Engages in problem solving and supports and advocatesfor effective use of evidence-based practices to address the needs of the school,staff, and students. Openness and willingness to collaborate and co-createsystems of support for students and schools within a team context is required.
Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the jobincludes: knowledge and skills regarding social, emotional, cognitive,physical, language, and academic development in children which affect thelearning process. The use of advanced intervention, prevention, problemsolving, data collection, and follow-up techniques and processes that restsupon an ongoing improvement mindset.
Specific abilitiesrequired to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: working aspart of a team, maintaining confidentiality; communicating with diverse groups;meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; skills working withtechnology including Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Power Point,Excel) and virtual meeting platforms; and working with frequent interruptions.
