　　School Counselor Duties and Responsibilities

　　General Responsibilities.

　　Coordinate and collaborate with District Staff, families and other educators to create an environment promoting student achievement

　　High quality and effective delivery of the comprehensive school counseling program

　　Implement data-driven programs based on standards in academic, career, and personal/social development; and provide all students in RHCSD with annual progress review plans reflecting educational progress and career plans.

　　Provide support to students, classrooms and employees through prevention, intervention and crisis response;

　　Communicate regularly with building staff to assess student needs and to identify appropriate interventions;

　　Assess students with mental health concerns;

　　Facilitate individual, group and crisis counseling as needed;

　　Link students and families to community resources including financial, food, clothing, housing, furniture, health insurance, medical and dental care and chemical dependency treatment;

　　Attend and participate in Committee on Special Education meetings/CPSE, as needed;

　　Assist students in understanding and accepting self and others;

　　Assist with conflict resolution and anger management strategies;

　　Assist teachers with behavior management;

　　Develop staff in-service training programs;

　　Consult with staff on school related concerns: tardiness, absences, school avoidance and truancy, academic achievement, bullying, dropout prevention, harassment, misbehavior and underachievement;

　　Assist in coordinating services for Home Schooling, Foster Care, Homelessness (McKinney- Vento) and other services as needed;

　　Potential to coordinate and write grants; and

　　Potential to oversee the implementation of Peer Mentoring Programs

　　Complete other tasks as assigned.

　　Salary and Benefits:

　　Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications in conjunction with the Royalton-Hartland Teacher Association Contract.
