LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment in the Indian River School DistrictRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Assist professional staff in working with students and their families in resolving attendance, learning, behavioral, or other special educational related problems. Employee will make home visits to students and their families to establish rapport, obtain and relay information on students standing, and make referrals to community service agencies where appropriate. This work is performed under the general supervision of higher level professional staff. Employee does related work as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a bachelors degree in psychology, social work, counseling, child development, education, or closely related field and one year of experience in a human services agency working with youth;orGraduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an associates degree in psychology, social work, counseling, child development, education, or closely related field and three years of experience in a human services agency working with youth;orAny equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above.Applicant must meet civil service requirements andpass a civil service examination with results being reachable status.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $30,000-$35,000 Commensurate with certification/experience and inkeeping with the negotiated agreement.
