BUSINESS MANAGER/BOARD SECRETARY for the 2024-25 School Year
Qualifications:
Business experiences; command of GAAP accounting procedures; 4-year degree preferred
Job Goal
:Assume responsibility for accurate and concise bookkeeping duties. Assist in providing reports and information to the Superintendent and Board of Education so that the financial affairs of the district are responsiblymanaged
Reports to and Evaluated by:
Superintendent and Board of Directors
Performance Responsibilities:
Supervises the collection and distribution of all District funds
Maintains the accounting system and utilizes accounting practices that comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
Provides monthly accounting of all income and expenditures and reconciles all accounts with the bank
Submits claims for refunds on sales and fuel taxes
Plans, organizes, directs and monitors the activities related to purchasing, storing and distributing materials, supplies, equipment and contracted services for the school district
Projects the revenue and expenditures and manages short-term investments and loans with the bank, ISJIT and ISCAP
Aids in preparing budget, publishing budget estimate and preparing forms and filing of adopted budget with auditor of county involved
Assists in the execution of the enacted budget
Makes recommendations for the line item budget
Prepares the financial portions of all state and federal reports and grants
Prepares billings for open enrollment tuition and special education tuition
Arranges for the auditing of the school accounts
Assists with the preparation for negotiations with the staff
