School Aide (Jamaica)
Mission Statement:
The Growing Up Green Charter School (GUGCS) supports children to be conscious, contributing members of their community through a rigorous, anti-racist, anti-bias, curriculum and an engaging green culture. Responsibilities:
School aides are responsible for overseeing the activities and behavior of students in hallways, corridors, and common areas. School aides help maintain a safe and orderly environment (both student environment and physical environment) by preventing and addressing disruptive behavior, rule violations, or conflicts among students School aides will check for hall passes to ensure that students are where they are supposed to be during school hours. School aides report any incidents, rule violations, or safety concerns to school administrators or appropriate staff members. In the event of emergencies or security threats, School aides will play a role in assisting with evacuations or lockdown procedures, ensuring students' safety.
School-Wide Responsibilities:
Utilize the Developmental Designs approach to discipline and community-building Establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships and communication with families, staff, and students Actively participate in the school community through weekly staff meetings, PD opportunities, department meetings, and school events. Respond productively to ongoing, year-round professional feedback. Demonstrate commitment to working with diverse populations of families and students, including those at-risk. Perform other school-wide responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Strong commitment to Growing Up Green Charter School's mission. Strong commitment to a multi-sensory teaching approach. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers. Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in scheduling changes to meet all student needs Excellent organizational skills and accurate record keeping and ability to use the Google Suite Accurate record-keeping Deep respect for other cultures and customsExperience working with Middle School children preffered Salary is $45,000
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Required Certificates & Licenses: NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance
