Overview
The HarperCollins Sales Analysis team is seeking an Analyst!. The Sales Analysis team provides internal reporting on sales performance and on what trends are impacting the book industry and consumer purchasing behaviors. We are data storytellers who take the raw numbers and put them in context within the larger picture of the business to inform a multitude of decisions across the company.

Hybrid NYC with the ability to come into our New York office is preferred, but remote candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
Provides weekly reporting.
Reviews and distributes opportunity reports.
Compiles trend reports and outside reporting to distribute more widely.
Monitors and identifies new trends.
Project manages deep dive analyses, coordinating with consumer insights, publishing, marketing, and account leads.
Helps with tracking digital pricing and promotional programs.
Works with Data Engineering, Data Product, and Data Governance to track ongoing issues, additional data sources, and report building needs.
Leverages new and underutilized data sources to develop new reporting.
Provides ad-hoc reporting on business questions.
Qualifications
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience; background in business administration, finance, accounting, or economics preferred
Minimum of 3 years of related experience
Ability to multi-task and prioritize asks
Excellent attention to detail
An analytical outlook and desire to look deeper to understand the data
Ability to translate data into visual displays that identify clear takeaways
Initiative to take on projects and deliver value-added analyses
Ability to identify and solve problems
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and a variety of teams
Outstanding working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience querying databases (SQL, BigQuery, Access or similar) and using business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)

The salary range for this position is $62,500-$65,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
