Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Safety, Health and Environmental Co-op student to join our Edmonton Valley Line West team!
What You'll Be Doing:
implementing the Project Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Plans
developing and maintaining various environmental Registers required for the Project
monitoring and maintaining updates for amendments to applicable Laws or Environmental Permits; the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems; and new policies or standards implemented by the City of Edmonton concerning environmental protection
critically assessing environmental conditions in the field to evaluate potential environmental impacts from construction
evaluating potential environmental issues and concerns ahead of construction activities
compiling and analyzing environmental data for report input
support the Environmental team with preparing daily and weekly inspection reports
attending various project meetings as required
conducting environmental risk assessments
participating in various construction meetings (e.g., kick-off, too
conducting environmental sampling
maintaining environmental equipment as required
performing work outdoors in all types of weather, and in an office as required
performing other duties associated with this position as may be required
compiling/updating project environmental documentation
review and interpret plans and drawings
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in a Sciences or Civil/Environmental Engineering
Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
