Position Summary
Provide overall strategic leadership to the regional transmission organization including siting and land rights, portfolio delivery, construction, operations and maintenance. Lead the safe, reliable, and effective delivery of energy related transmission products and services across the company’s OpCo service territory. Develop and implement short and long-term operating plans to best position organizational performance. Responsible for leadership and oversight of a large and complex operational company with a significantly large employee population.
Essential Responsibilities
Business Strategy - Develop, recommend and implement business strategies, annual and long-term business plans and budgets to position the organization to meet future business needs. Provide clear and effective communication of the organization’s vision, mission and strategic focus areas to achieve jurisdictional and corporate goals. Execute on annual capital investment and expense budgets.
Transmission System Management - Responsible and accountable for the siting and land rights, portfolio execution, construction operation and maintenance functions for regional electric systems. Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure continuous process improvement through the use of industry and company best practices and implement technologies to enhance system performance productivity and reporting capabilities. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations and service providers to maximize efficiency responsiveness and resource allocation.
Labor Strategy Development - Lead the development and implementation of cost-effective labor strategies that provide the jurisdiction with maximum flexibility in aligning resources to support business needs. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with Labor Relations and local union leadership. Key role in labor negotiations.
Human Asset Management - Responsible for attracting, recruiting and retaining a highly motivated and engaged workforce. Establish and communicate clear performance expectations so employees know how their work contributes to the achievement of jurisdictional and corporate objectives. Foster a culture of personal accountability, employee safety and personal development.
Relationship Management - Act as the regional transmission business area liaison with key executives. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other jurisdictional and corporate peers to ensure timely and effective information sharing, business learning and implementation of common best practices.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Leadership, Construction Management or Engineering or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge preferred.
Ten years of utility experience, including electric grid planning, engineering, or operations experience, with at least 5 years of middle-management experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to implement projects that cross organizations, business units and professional disciplines, supporting culture change and building business acumen.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Demonstrated knowledge of grid business area functions and understanding of regulatory requirements and their business and operational implications.
Ability to reach results is mandatory.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $185,000.00 to $239,000.00 per year
