Position Purpose and Objectives:  Under the direction of the Web Manager, the Roll Tender is responsible for the handling the loads of paper rolls, maintenance, efficient set-up, and monitoring while disposing unwanted materials accordingly all in a safely manner. Assist Web Press Operation regarding inventory and reports along with cooperating verbally and written with staff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare and mount paper rolls at infeed end of press, remove plug, place shaft through roll and load onto roll stand by using electrical hoist.Dispose of core and wrapper in proper location.Maintains press with supply of appropriate paper and corrects any breaks in web under the direction of web press operator.Accurately completes al paper reports.Return unused stock to inventory and reports any damaged stock to the Web Press Operator.Monitors and fills inks and fountain solutions.Monitors and fills press chemistry as needed.Wash blankets and lubricate the press.Perform routine maintenance and cleanliness of roll stand and press infeed area.Setup and operation of Martin and Butler Splicers.Ability to interact personally and in a written manner with peers as well as company management in a positive, interpersonal manner which does not cause undue interruptions, hostility, errors, undue stress or other disruptive behavior.Provide attention and vigilance while on the job to ensure the safety of others and the equipment and to ensure the quality of work.Sterling North America, Inc. offer a generous benefit package which includes paid-time off, medical, dental, 100% company subsidized vision, 401K with a company match and other incentives.
