  Job Description:

  We are looking for a Road/Highway design engineer to add to our growing team in Houston TX. We have a number of projects in both conventional design, as well as design/build and need strong design engineers with a passion for details, and 3D modeling experience, to support existing and future projects.

  Responsibilities:

  Design of alignment plans, profiles, cross-sections, horizontal and vertical geometrics, and the creation of 3D models for both roadway and highway projects.

  Performs QA/QC of work in progress and deliverables.

  Works with other disciplines (i.e. drainage, roadway, structural) to produce deliverables.

  Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

  Prepares and coordinates standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates and collaborate with other engineers to ensure quality of design.

  Develop difficult and complex working drawings for project design and support client, suppliers, and contractors regarding design issues or design challenges. Projects may include doing schematic and PS&E work for TXDOT.

  Typical tasks may include performing and reviewing detailed calculations, 3D models, drawings, procurement documents, design and construction packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.

  Requirements:

  BS or higher degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline

  3-5+ years Road/Highway Design experience

  Must have experience with Inroads/MicroStation, and prefer experience working with Open Roads

  Candidate must have PE License

  Working knowledge of schematic and PS&E development process

  Working knowledge of geometric design of highways

  Salary Range:

  $68,400.00 - $142,600.00
