The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Froedtert Hospitalis a 21 bed critical care area that cares for some of the mostcritically ill patients in the state of Wisconsin and Northern IL. Ourpatient population includes critically ill patients: trauma surgery,acute care surgery, surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, plasticsurgery, neurology and neurosurgery all of whom require the highestlevel of monitoring and specialized nursing care that can be provided.Our inter-professional team consists of Nurses, Critical CareTechnicians, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, Nurse Practitioners,PT/OT/speech Therapists, Social Workers and Dieticians who work togetherto ensure optimal high quality care and outcomes for our patients. Witha patient to nurse ratio of 2:1 or 1:1 our team is passionate aboutproviding exceptional care to every patient and their family. JobSummary: The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible forassessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for anidentified group of patients in an inpatient environment. Thisindividual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarilyadult population.
