　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Geropsych RN oversees and directs the care of the geriatric person with psychiatric diagnosis. The RN will have basic physical assessment skills and demonstrate ability to care for the geriatric person with a co-existing psychiatric diagnosis. An ability to provide knowledgeable, empathetic care of the person requiring is essential. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Functions to seek methods to improve patient care on an ongoing basis. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

　　What qualifications you will need:

　　Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.

　　Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

　　CPI certification and re-certification every 2 years thereafter.

　　Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred.

　　One year of acute care and one year of inpatient behavioral health, preferred.
