Clinical Screening Questions
Please note for all Tele and PCU screenings:
· 3+ years of experience required, primarily at a level 1 trauma facility
· They need to be comfortable with treatable drips, they have these on all their PCU units.

· They must be competent in tele and have completed a course or competency. The hospital does have a tele room, but the nurses are ultimately responsible for their patients and strips.
· Must be comfortable with IVs and/or blood draws. It is expected that all nurses working at Cooper can draw blood and insert IVs. They do have phlebotomy and IV team, however, IV team is consulted for hard sticks after attempts by primary RN have been made and there are times that phlebotomy is unavailable to draw labs and the nurse may need to jump in and help.
· All MedSurg Tele, PCU and Critical Care skillsets are required to float to ALL like units . Please make sure float requirement is being discussed during submission process and included on contracts/offer letters. It is already included on the COA.
· Bedside shift report and safety huddles are required !! Please make sure your temps are aware that this is an expectation and NOT an option.
