  Location: Jacksonville, FL

  Our busy 19-bed interdisciplinary inpatient unit on the 3rd floor is designed to provide safe personalized high quality care to those with intricate and higher acuity medical needs. Here we manage and treat patients with complex cardiac, respiratory, neurological, oncology/hematology, urological, renal, wound, and social/psychological needs. This unit is composed of a highly experienced team of nurses that are dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive patient care. This unit is the perfect opportunity for nurses to build and challenge their nursing skills in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. Nurse to patient ratios are 1 to 4, sometimes 1 to 3; we also have a designated resource nurse that assists across the 3rd floor with admitting and discharging these patients.

  Responsibilities

  Coordinate unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.

  Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.

  Contribute to or performs performance evaluations of staff.

  Assess daily patient care needs and develops and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.

  Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.

  Respond to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.

  May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

  Requirements

  Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date required.

  Education:

  Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experiencerequired.Additional Preferences
