We're seeking an RN with a background in ED, or OR and Endo, to work as a Virtual Nurse here at Geneva General Hospital. This new and exciting role has been very successful, since it was first implemented a few months ago. We would love to grow the team!

　　This is a Per Diem Position, with flexible hours. It's a unique position, in that it offers patient care, but virtually. Our Virtual Nurses do not physically work on the unit, but are able to communicate to patients and nurses on the floor, delivering an extra level of care.

　　POSITION SUMMARY:

　　The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the nursing team, provides as examples: education, couseling, review of medications. The RN is accountable for patient education and accurate and timely documentation.

　　Graduate of an Accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing

　　Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse

　　PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

　　BLS through the RQI system during clincal orientation.

　　WORK EXPERIENCE:

　　Minimum:

　　One year of successful performance as an RN

　　Preferred:

　　One or more years of successful performance as a RN in an acute care setting with experience in EMR (Meditech)

　　Interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.

　　Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care.

　　Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the people in a professional and courteous manner.

　　Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

　　Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
