Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a mission driven individual with aDHS Clearanceand proven experience identifying potential threats and mitigating issues to become our next Risk Manager. This position is located in theNational Capital Region.
As aRisk Manager, you will:

A week in the life of aRisk Manager:
Perform server-side software installation and management.
Manage and conduct software upgrades.
Lead risk management discussions with multiple stakeholders.
Provide systems engineering support, including, but not limited to, requirements definition, tracking, change control and risk management.
Coordinate and integrate overall project risk and opportunity assessment at least monthly.
Provide assessments of cost, schedule and risk of project changes and opportunities.
Identify and analyze various risk e.g., business, financial, legal and security.
Develop risk management controls and contingency plans.
Communicate recommendations to management.
Conduct assessments to define and analyze possible risks.
Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences.
Audit processes and procedures.
Develop risk management controls and systems.
Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks.
Create contingency plans to manage crises.
Evaluate existing policies and procedures to find weaknesses.
Prepare reports and present recommendations.
Support clients responsible for implementation of ERM within their enterprise.
Develop training materials and instruct staff on RM/ERM best practices as recognized by industry and federal oversight (GAO, IF, DHS OCFO/PARM).
Job Requirements
Active DHS Clearance, CBP Background Investigation, or ability to obtain clearance
Bachelor’s Degree BS/BA and 8-10 years related experience
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present briefings and technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with OMB A-11, A-123, and A-130 for the implementation of ERM and creation and usage of risk profiles and related information.
Understanding of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) regulations, NIST Framework, CISA best practices and guidance related to cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
