As a Risk Manager at Amazon you will be responsible for leading one or more program level components of Regulatory and Operational Risk for our regulated payments entities. The Risk Manager will drive risk assessments, escalation, and mitigation strategies across a diverse group of partners and risk disciplines. The role is vital to ensure we comply with AML and CTF local and global legal and compliance requirements. In Payments Risk Management team you will have the chance to join a team that partners across the organization to shape the future of Amazon’s evolving risk and compliance programs. Responsibilities· - Second-line program level ownership to include Canada risk programs which may include product risk, business continuity and resiliency, and third party risk.
Identify and develop appropriate data sources and elements which contribute to risk-based assessments for operations, strategic, financial, financial crime, and strategic risks.
Own, maintain, and annually update policies, procedures, and other governance documents, as necessary, for local and global risk management.
Provide regional regulatory expertise and guidance for payments entities in North America, with primary focus on Canada.
Develop detailed, data driven narratives to inform Board members of risk levels, mitigations, and impacts.
Perform operational deep dives on compliance-related processes and systems. Understand payments business processes, regulations, and controls and work with partners to identify root cause of issues.
Identify, track, and report key risk indicators.
Manage several projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
Be prepared to support global second line risk management activities, as needed.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or certificate of completion of studies required
5+ years of experience in a financial institution, licensed money transmitter, audit, payments, e-commerce, or operational risk management environment.
Former role in second-line risk management with knowledge of regulatory standards.
Experience with risk based analysis of products, vendors, and significant operational changes.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AML experience highly preferred
Experience in global risk programs addressing multiple regulatory regimes
Understanding of modern transaction processing environments is a plus.
Demonstrated track record of taking ownership and driving results.
Ability to think both strategically and tactically.
Ability to manage and analyze data.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Very comfortable managing through ambiguity with strong bias for action.
Ability to travel internationally 1-2 times annually.
