About RF/SATCOM Technician

  Description

  The Engineering, Integration and Operations business area of Leidos has an opening for a RF/SATCOM Technician.

  Working at a site or sites in southwest Asia, the appointed individual assigned to this role should be qualified to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various communication devices, including standard radio frequency wireless, line-of-sight, beyond line-of-sight, wideband, ground-based satellite, and encryption transmission devices. This encompasses multiple waveform systems operating across the spectrum, keying and signal devices, as well as telemetry and instrumentation systems. Their responsibilities involve assembling, connecting, securing, and interconnecting components such as transmitters, power supplies, and antenna assemblies.

  In the course of their duties, they address installation, repair, and modification issues associated with communications equipment. They utilize techniques such as orbiting communication satellites, line-of-sight, and tropospheric scatter. The individual conducts tests to restore and maintain systems, referring to layout drawings, schematics, and pictorial diagrams to solve maintenance problems and ensure proper equipment positioning. They analyze the construction and operating characteristics of equipment to determine the source of malfunctions, performing intricate alignment and calibration procedures for maximum operating efficiency.

  Ensuring compliance with maintenance management publications and procedures, as well as enforcing safety standards for system maintenance activities, are integral aspects of their role. They check installed and repaired components for compliance with technical publications, maintain inspection and maintenance records, and record meter readings and other pertinent data in equipment logs. Additionally, they complete maintenance data collection forms and handle the requisition, accountability, and turn-in of supplies and materials.

  Maintain systems are such as CM-200, CM-300, GRC-171 & 211, GRR-23/24, PCAS, GRT-21/22, PRC-117F/G, RT-1319, TRC-176, URC-200, EPLRS radio, MIDS LVT 2, MIDS LVT 11,AN/TRC-214, Joint Radio Relay (JR2), Cornet TVCS-L, LHSC, RT9000D, 721S-1, 721S-2, ALE, Have Quick, SINCGARS, KY-100, VSAT VRC-103, TTRS, RT-1747, Sun Air RT-9000, Hawkeye Lite, Ranger 1200, iDirect 850/950 Modem, 2050E Modem, other C2 Systems/Associated Equipment and Air Control Squadron O&M Support.

  Minimum requirements include:

  Active Secret clearance

  High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training such as: military technical training school, vocational college, and/or a four (4) year electronics apprentice program with experience in electronics equipment the technician will maintain.

  Minimum IAT Level II, IP fundamentals, familiarity with deployable communications systems, RF/SATCOM principles highly desired.

  Pay Range:

  Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00

  The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
