The overall purpose is to provide quality care to patients of all ages; from neonates to the elderly who exhibit disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Respiratory Care is involved in the diagnostic testing, therapeutics, and monitoring of both inpatients and outpatients per physician's order.PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe primary purpose of the Respiratory Technician is to perform all duties assigned by the Unit Director, Assistant Manager, Clinical Coordinator(s) and Registered Respiratory Therapist in accordance with Aultman Hospital policy and procedures.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma/degree or equivalentGood work ethic with the ability to be flexible with schedule and work responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONSAdheres to Aultman's policies and proceduresCompletes mandatory orientation, training and education.Inventory management:Tracking, assembly, cleaning and transport of respiratory equipment and patientsCollaborate with Clinical Engineering to manage and track out of service equipmentManagement of respiratory supplies/carts throughout the organizationOxygen tank roundsMaintains standards of respiratory careMaintains professional communication with the multidisciplinary teamDuties and projects as assignedSKILLSMust be detail-orientedPossess proficient time management skillsHave ability to communicate strong and effectively.Work effectively with coworkersProficient problem-solving skillsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, identity, family status, gender, disability, or veteran status.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work eight hours a day. This unit requires has 24/7 coverage.Shifts are variable to volume/workload of department.
