Dewberry is seeking a Resilience Planner to join our multi-disciplinary andaction-oriented team (open to remote). This position will support theResilience Solutions Group at the intersection of planning, policy, andtechnical analysis in hazard mitigation, emergency management, and climatechange adaptation. Related areas of technical focus for this position includebut are not limited to vulnerability assessment, hazard mitigation,community planning, natural resource management, and research and planningrelated to Federal agencies (FEMA, USACE, NOAA, and US F&WS),state agencies, and local communities.Dewberry is a leading, market-facing professional services firm with morethan 50 locations and 2,000 professionals nationwide. Responsibilities
Support the exploration and execution of programmatic improvements to increaseclimate resilience and hazard mitigation within federal, state, and localgovernment agencies.Lead or support the facilitation of collaborative meetings as well asone-on-one discussions with partners, clients, and external stakeholders.Develop and conducts public outreach for community resilience projects, bothvirtual and in-person.Support the execution of technical studies and analytical processes relatingto resilience strategy and plan development.Research, analyze, and develop effective hazard mitigation policy anddesign solutions for local, state, and federal clients.Employ a mix of written, visual, and verbal communication techniques tocraft compelling narratives and explain complex technical topics to variousaudiences.Prepare plans, studies, reports, guides, and other technical documents.Conceptualize and supports the development of digital communication anddecision-making tools, including data analytics dashbo rds, map viewers,StoryMaps, and custom web applications.Apply principles of social equity and environmental justice to technical andstrategic work.Represent Dewberry in meetings with clients to resolve complex issues and toplan and coordinate work.Assist Project Managers with developing technical and business proposals fornew projects.Work on a diverse array of related projects within the Resilience SolutionsGroup to acquire supplementary technical and programmatic knowledge/skills.
