　　External Description

　　Resident Managers are responsible for complete operation of an apartment at Allegheny Valley School Philadelphia Verree Road Campus, a Resident hold of individuals with developmental disabilities.  The Resident Manager will work in conjunction with professional staff in the comprehensive delivery of services to the individuals. Resident Managers must be available on all shifts to provide proper training and supervision of staff.  Must have reliable transportation.

　　The Resident Managers are responsible for developing and implementing all facets of home life as close to a normal family unit as possible.  In addition, they must develop an appropriate and wholesome environment within the apartment for all the individuals.  Supervision of this position is provided by the Resident Service Director or designee.  The Resident Manager provides supervision and evaluation of Habilitation Workers.

　　Requirements

　　REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

　　Resident Managers are to be mature in decision making and possess the ability to use good judgment in all matters.

　　Cooperate with anyone, who evaluates the home or represents the various agencies, who place individuals in the home.

　　Ability to prepare necessary reports and recording of individuals' program progress.

　　Capable of ensuring a safe, clean, orderly and normalized family living environment.

　　Knowledge of practices and techniques of programming for individuals with developmental disabilities.

　　Ability to acquire knowledge of ICF/MR Regs policies and procedures, specifically as applied to active treatment and documentation.

　　Knowledge of local communities and their activities.

　　Knowledge of policies and procedures of Allegheny Valley School.

　　Ability to implement proper practices and techniques of supervision.

　　Ability to maintain effective verbal and written communications with staff, individuals' families, individuals and outside service providers.

　　Thinks well when faced with an unexpected or disturbing turn of events in any situation.

　　Maintains poise and emotional stability in the full range of his/her professional activities.

　　Ability to lift and transfer individuals typically weighing over fifty (50) pounds.

　　Must be flexible and organized.

　　Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of subordinate staff.

　　Ability to delegate authority and train personnel.

　　MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING :

　　Bachelors degree from an accredited program with specialized training, and/or a minimum of one year's experience in working with the developmentally disabled; and/or any combination of education, experience or training deemed appropriate by the Residential Service Director.
