  This Global Specialty Products technology team program engineer position is an integral role in the development and implementation of highly efficient and reliable microwaves with superior performance for GE Appliances, a Haier Company. The position will closely interact with sourced suppliers along with the GE Appliances technology, sourcing, quality, and commercial teams to understand all consumer queues in an effort to design and produce new and innovative products that lead the market. The use of skilled engineering analysis and judgment with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations in every way is paramount to position success.

  How You'll Create Possibilities

  Digital Feature Development

  Lead digital feature development for Microwave and Ventilation

  Lead bi-weekly session to generate innovative digital opportunities

  Collaborate with Advanced Systems team to develop innovative new IP and ideas for NPI programs

  Collaborate with Connected Home, Mobile App, Cloud, Software, and Electronics teams to develop infrastructure designs and digital concept feasibility

  Program Management

  Function as leader of a global, cross-functional team responsible for developing optimized solutions around cost and performance

  Lead and manage program to deliver on schedule and ensure meeting design intent, budgetary requirements, and regulatory approval

  Manage resolution of technical issues, problem analysis, and project analysis

  Prepare and present project status to engineering and product management

  Identify, elevate, and/or mitigate program risk items to product performance, cost and quality, program cost, regulatory, or commercial requirements, which could impact program delivery

  Develop and execute development schedules which incorporate, 1) Design and development activities, 2)Developmental build timing, 3) Evaluation cycles, 4) Certification and regulatory requirements, 5) Claims validation, 6) Commercial and customer requirements, and 7) Root cause & develop corrective actions for product improvements, utilizing the FRACAS system)

  Evaluate competitive products through teardowns, testing, and/or analysis of competitive landscapes.

  Pursue continuous learning opportunities to improve project management skillset. Examples include: attending coaching sessions with Execution Leaders/NPI Process Leader or demonstrating skill proficiency with standard tools such as Microsoft Project Schedule and SmartSheet.

  What You'll Bring to Our Team

  Required Qualifications

  BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  Self-starting leader with 3 or more years of engineering experience

  Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills.

  Project leadership experience

  Proactive problem solver comfortable with hands on work in a laboratory setting to demonstrate solutions

  Demonstrated ability to work in a global environment.

  Demonstrated ability to work multiple design options in parallel.

  Advanced computer skills – high proficiency in Microsoft products and ability to grasp new systems quickly.

  Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions.

  Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements during the development process.

  Ability to travel internationally (10% or less)

  Desired Qualifications

  MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  Experience with 3rd party agencies and certification, such as UL

  Working knowledge of LEAN principles
