Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Residential Aide is to serve as a role model and be a spiritual mentor to men who are homeless or in recovery from an alcohol or drug addition. Will provide direct support with building educational, life and computer skills while maintaining a safe and recovery focused program.Essential Job FunctionsMaintain the safety and security of the facility. Develop appropriate relationships with men to serve as a source of Godly counsel. Maintain appropriate boundaries with the men by upholding the regulations of the program and acting as a trusted source of support. Implement all practices and procedures of the programs. Maintain effective communication with staff members. Communicate crisis incidents, potential threats and other unusual incidents to supervisor. Maintain documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Abide by all Mission and program and safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Attend and participate in regular meetings and trainings as requested by your supervisor. Maintain a professional and approachable attitude on the Mission campus. All other duties as requested by your supervisor. Minimum Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent. AAS Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Genuine desire to pursue a career in human services. Experience working with men in the area of recovery, homelessness and mental illness preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Clean/valid NYS Driver’s License preferred. Enthusiastic support of our Mission Statement.
