Responsible for media preparation, general laboratory maintenance, and routine tasks associated with activities of the CGC and Rougvie labs. Essential Duties: 65% Lab maintenance Prepare media and reagents needed to grow and maintain C. elegans stocks and support molecular cloning experiments. Contribute as needed to miscellaneous tasks to keep the CGC and Rougvie labs running efficiently. Fill-in as needed to complete essential tasks primarily associated with other CGC positions, from maintaining strain organization to office tasks (preparing/mailing orders, data entry, etc). 35% Support for C. elegans genome engineering projects Provide technical support to ongoing genome engineering projects. Responsibilities may include mutant identification and genetic manipulation of strains, plasmid preparation, PCR-based strain validation. Qualifications 'All Required Qualifications Must Be Documented In Application Materials' Required Qualifications: B.S./B.A. degree in genetics related field or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four (4) years. Expertise with sterile techniques. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework in genetics, experience with C. elegans, knowledge of Crispr-Cas9 genome engineering techniques.
