Job Summary
This part-time Research Technician will assist with all aspects of theresearch projects including molecular biology, biochemistry,cardiovascular physiology, electrophysiology studies, imaging,histopathology, vascular biology and cellular analysis. She/He needs tobe instrumental in performing experiments and experience in scientificdata collection, analysis and interpretation. She/He will work directlywith Dr. Cevher Ozcan to complete the project.
Responsibilities
The Research Technician will provide technical support activitiesrelated to scientific research projects.Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state,and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives andmandates.His/her responsibilities include, but not limited to following: 1)Provides technical and administrative support for a researchproject.Installs, sets up and performs experiments.Working with mice, including behavioral monitoring, recovery oftissues, and histological processing.Genetic screening of transgenic mouse lines, using PCR protocols andkeeping colony.Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.Analyzes possible solutions and tissue using standard laboratoryprocedures.Conducts literature reviews and assists with preparation of reports,manuscripts, presentations and other documents.Interacting with students and other laboratory staff under thedirection of the principal investigator.Assisting with developing or amending study protocols, datacollection tools and databases.Maintains technical and administrative support for a researchproject.Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literaturereviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and otherdocuments.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Biological Sciences or related field.Experience:
Experience with basic science research.Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated research experience.Experience with cardiovascular research, cellular electrophysiology,and animal models of diseases is highly desired.Preferred Competencies
