Job Summary
The Garassino Lab is searching for a Research Technician who will beinvolved in a cutting edge basic and translational cancer researchprogram that utilizes techniques related to genetics, cancer biology,and cellular biology. The Technologist will be involved in projects thatutilize animal models, cellular culture models, next generationsequencing, and translational clinical trial sample processing thatcarry a high potential to ultimately advance cancer care. The day-to-daywork will involve techniques related to animal care, tissue culture, andsample processing in close collaboration with a group of dedicatedcolleagues.
Responsibilities
Tissue culture.Maintenance of cell cultures, including adherent and suspensioncells, transfections, and CRISPR-edited cell cultures.Mouse animal care and routine behavior testing.Breeding and organization of mouse strains in collaboration withgroup members and animal facility.Helps maintain stock solutions, order new supplies.Basic bioinformatics pipelines, with an emphasis on next generationsequencing techniques.Maintains technical and administrative support for a researchproject.Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literaturereviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and otherdocuments.Performs other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
