Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking Research Study Coordinators within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. This individual, under the direction of the Research Study Manager, is responsible for assisting with the organization, daily operation and administrative duties of the clinical trial laboratory.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Maintains current knowledge of all relevant Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH), International Air Transport Association (IATA) requirements and guidelines for bio-specimen handling and storage. Ensures that all lab staff are current International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate holders.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.
  • Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree in Biology or a relevant science, plus two (2) years of related experience.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in bio-specimen processing required.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work well on a team.
  • Should be detail oriented, and possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Laboratory environment, moderate noise. Exposure to blood, excrement, anti-neoplastic drugs and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Universal precautions are mandatory. Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
