Job Summary
The Research Services Coordinator, under direction, coordinates the review of sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements and monitors on-going agreements to ensure compliance. Negotiates sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements and their terms and conditions in compliance with the law and policy and procedure, and coordinates with researchers on updating annual disclosures and management plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with negotiating sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements to ensure all compliance requirements are met and continue to be met. Assists with negotiating terms and conditions of agreements to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures, and federal and state law.
Tracks agreements to ensure they are executed in a timely manner, and coordinates with researchers, department heads, and deans to resolve any contract issues. Updates and maintains agreement log.
Coordinates the review of sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements and monitors on-going agreements to ensure all compliance requirements are met and continue to be met. Reviews terms and conditions of agreements to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and University policies and procedure.
Assists in researching new requirements for all relevant regulations.
Assists with monitoring Financial Conflicts of Interest compliance and coordinates with principal investigators on updating annual disclosures and management plans as necessary.
Assists with monitoring nepotism and other compliance issues on sponsored research and assists with other compliance issues as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Reviews and coordinates other required agreements and documents such as Non-disclosure agreements, Confidentiality agreements, Data Transfer agreements and items for Records Only retention.
Coordinates consultation with review assistance from the Office of General Counsel, Office of Technology commercialization, TAMUS Risk and Compliance, Research Compliance, and members’ offices as needed.
Assists with sending out New Award Notices and coordinating Research Compliance review and account establishment initiations to Project Administrators.
Works with sponsors, researcher, and administrative staff for revisions and approvals which include budget revisions, compliance issues, change of Principal Investigator, time extensions, additional funds requests, transfer awards, and other requested changes to award documents.
Coordinates issuing all new Subawards and modifications through the life of the award. Assistsoverseeing subrecipient monitoring and FFATA reporting.
Navigates the primary Office of Research and Innovation (ORI/OSR) email for all communications regarding established awards, pending awards, proposal administration and project administration items. Enters all items on internal Trackers and updates all transactions accordingly.
Assists in preparing monthly reports and supplemental reports as needed.

Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
Experience – Three years’ experience in office, program or project administration including some experience in research compliance or in contract, grant, or research administration.
Knowledge of – Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to – Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Oral and written communication skills. Organizational skills.
