In the role of ResearchScientist I you will supervise and independently perform studies toadvance the goals of the principal investigator\'s research projects.Develop, plan and implement experiments, analyze data and compileresults, monitor quality control processes to ensure integrity ofresearch, and prepare and write manuscripts and grant applications. Thisrole will be in the laboratory of Dr. William Drobyski in theDepartments of Medicine and Microbiology at the Medical College ofWisconsin that is focused on transplantation immunology with a specificemphasis on the immunobiology of allogeneic bone marrow transplantationand the pathophysiology of graft versus host disease (GVHD). Specificareas of interest include inflammatory cytokine networks that contributeto GVHD, inflammatory cytokine signaling and regulatory pathways thatimpact the development of tolerance, modulate anti-leukemic responses,and induce pathological damage particularly within the gastrointestinaltract and central nervous system using genetically modified mousemodels, flow cytometry, q-PCR, RNA-seq, single cell RNA seq, westernblot, and other immunological techniques. Responsibilities: Perform immunology experiments from designconception to final data analysis and presentation of results. Collect,analyze and provide summations of data from experiments. Perform allnecessary calculations and reduction of data errors to allow forinterpretation of all experimental outcomes. Prepare scientific papers,present scientific data at local and national meetings and assist thePrincipal Investigator in the preparations of grant applications.Perform molecular biological assays using RT-PCR, real time PCR, Westernand molecular cloning techniques. Adopt new techniques in laboratory.Coordinate research study activities; lead and manage projects.
