Minimum Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field; or a master’s degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, and Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals specifically in neuroscience field. Publication track record in the field of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia is highly preferred.Education (Master’s) and training in neuroscience preferred.Academic training in Biostatistics/Applied mathematics with experience in supporting NIH grant applications preferred.Hands-on experience of wet-lab and dry-lab working on Alzheimer’s Disease biological samples preferred.Hands on experience with handling small laboratory animals, behavior tests and biological assays (Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry etc.) desired.Hands on coding experience in R, Bash, Tableau. Python experience preferred.
Duties Description Specific responsibilities would include, but not be limited to: • Analyze high throughput multi-omics (bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, bulk proteomics) data using computational tools and techniques.• Perform rigorous quality control on omics data with statistically and biologically accepted tools to produce reproducible results. • Perform exploratory data analysis, pre-processing, and downstream analysis (Differential Gene Expression, Gene Set Enrichment, Network, GWAS enrichment analysis with MAGMA etc.).• Perform computational analysis on spatially mapped omics data generated by nanoString’s GeoMx and other spatial profilers with rigorous strategies implemented in R and elsewhere.• Develop, test, validate and benchmark new algorithms and software programs for processing and analyzing large omics data.• Collaborate with biologists and computational scientists in the lab to support projects in a fast-paced environment.• Write research papers and present findings at scientific conferences and lab meetings while keeping up to date on the latest bioinformatics tools, techniques, and datasets especially in the field of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia.
