What you'll do...
Maintain electron microscopy instruments and computers; managing the TEM laboratory environment and ensuring its safety and cleanliness
Perform comprehensive microstructural characterization on a variety of automotive materials using optical microscopy and electron microscopy (TEM/SEM/EBSD/EDS)
Support resolution of production and non-production issues using problem-solving and failure analysis
Document and publish research in internal technical reports, and external journals, and present at conferences.
You'll have...
Master’s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, or related field of study
3+ years of working experience in electron microscopy
3+ years of experience in the metallic materials such as steel and aluminum alloy
Even better, you may have...
PHD Degree in Materials Science with a thesis focusing on materials characterizations using TEM, SEM, and other techniques
Demonstrated capability in data analysis and data-driven decision making
Strong technical writing and presentation skills
Ability to lead and manage complex, multi-step projects with limited supervision
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Passion for innovation
Hands-on experience and a solid understanding of operating transmission electron microscopes (TEM), scanning electron microscopes (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) characterization tools
Experience with TEM specimen preparation including FIB and ion milling, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), and indexing TEM selected area diffraction patterns
Ability to instruct users and colleagues clearly and effectively
