The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time Research Core Services Coordinator.
The Research Core Services Coordinator contributes to the growth and success of the Department by supporting and promoting the research objectives as part of the Research Core team. The coordinator works with faculty members to identify research problems and assist in the design, execution, and data collection in research. Specific activities include submission and maintenance of IRB applications, Data Use Agreements, and others that will come into use. As a part of that process, this position submits applications, responses, modifications, renewals, and closeouts, collects outcome data, and manages database oversight. This position will also start-up and execute prospective research studies, including IRB submissions, Oncore/CTMS entry, subject recruitment, and study coordination.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications to the Human Subjects Division - 30% Facilitate the process of obtaining IRB approvals, modifications, renewals, responses, and closeouts for human and clinical research studies; this includes the preparation, writing, editing, and tracking of submissions, ensuring that applications meet the requirements of the University of Washington as well as state and federal regulations while furthering the research objectives of the Department of Radiology. The position will track these applications, renewals, and close-outs with a REDCap database and survey forms. Effective communication through virtual and in-person meetings with research teams will be required.
Data Use Agreement (DUA) applications to the Dean's Office in the School of Medicine - 20% Act as the primary contact for the Radiology department for initial review (using established guidelines) and submitting Data Use Agreement (DUA) applications. Track these applications with a REDCap database and survey forms. Effective communication through virtual and in-person meetings with research teams will be required.
Administer and curate REDCap databases and survey forms and other process improvements - 10% Administer and curate the REDCap databases and survey forms described above. If appropriate, and with training, make modifications or add extensions to the REDCap databases and survey forms. Make other process improvements as necessary.
Research Study Coordination and Study Start-up Support - 30% Management, coordination and implementation of human subjects research projects (IRB submission, HIPAA, CTMS, HSRAC, subject recruitment, data collection, document management, budget management);Manage, coordinate, and implement clinical trials in accordance with FDA, IRB, and Good Clinical Practices Manage the maintenance of research study and regulatory files to ensure audit readiness and that the files are maintained and stored in a manner and for a timeframe that meets regulatory requirements Identify problems, propose solutions, and implement those solutions following consultation with the PI Attend necessary meetings for research projects Manage research-specific budgets Manage the development of forms and questionnaires for research studies Organize and maintain computer and paper study records Employing best practices, design and manage the development and maintenance of study database tracking, subject recruitment, milestones, appointments, and assessments Assist in establishing and maintaining contact with departments and staff across multiple disciplines, including healthcare providers Support patient recruitment and recruitment team coordination
Continuing training learning - 10% Training in research administration, human subjects research requirements, data use agreements, research data access requirements, policies, and approaches (including REDCap) across the UW Medicine research enterprise. This is a key part of the career enhancement and continual learning aspect for this position.

Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field• 2+ years of related experience
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. Desired Qualifications • Experience writing IRB or other research applications or documents, responses, modifications, closeouts, etc.• Effective time management, multi-tasking, detail¬oriented and organizational skills, and a positive attitude to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced environment• Research Coordinator experience• Familiarity with clinical and investigational Radiology• Ability to adapt to new software and interpret changing policies• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Access and/or other database programs such as RedCAP• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse communities• Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities and experience. Ability to create an organized presentation to groups in various formats• Experience with scientific writing and/or data analysis for publication• Knowledge of and experience with the University of Washington systems such as SAGE, Oncore and Zipline, or willingness and capacity to learn

Supervision:This position reports to the Vice Chair for Clinical Research in the Radiology Department.

Work Environment:
• This is a full-time position. Incumbent will work with supervisor to set an expected schedule within the normal 8am to 5pm, M-F, timeframe but is not always fixed and workload does vary. The incumbent’s first responsibility is to complete tasks rather than keep to a fixed schedule. Flexibility in schedule and intensity of work is necessary.• Position is suitable/eligible for hybrid work with some in-person component• Some travel between sites may be necessary by UW Health Services or other shuttles.
